AMP Website Design

Consider these mobile statistics to persuade you to adopt mobile AMP on your website. By 2020, 80 percent of all mobile data traffic will come from smartphones. A 2016 study found that 58 percent of searches were conducted over mobile devices. 53 percent of web pages are abandoned if they take more than three seconds to load. A one-second delay in website load time can decrease conversions by up to 7 percent.

The recently unveiled AMP—Accelerated Mobile Pages—project is an open source initiative that restricts certain elements of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to produce leaner Web pages "that are optimised to load instantly on mobile devices."
AMP HTML, which sits at the core of the idea, wants to do things like minimize HTTP requests to fully lay out a document and only downloads images when they're likely to be seen.
There is a trade-off, however. Third-party JavaScript code, for example, has no place in a AMP environment.

Amp Results

According to Adobe Analytics, 7 percent of internet traffic for the U.S.’s top publishers comes from AMP web pages.
The Miami Herald saw a 10 percent increase in dwell time for users who visited an AMP document, as opposed to the native web page.
According to a DoubleClick study, 90 percent of AMP publishers saw a higher engagement rate after adopting AMP and 80 percent of publishers also reported receiving higher viewability rates.

Web pages and ads published in the AMP open-source format load near instantly, giving users a smooth, more engaging experience on mobile and desktop.

AMP stands for
Accelerated Mobile Pages

Accelerated Mobile Pages is an open-source coding standard for publishers/website designers. The aim for AMP is for publishers to be able to load their website design quickly on mobile, since mobile responsive could be clunky and slow because desktop resources are heavy and plenty.

When you see AMP below any link, that page is an Accelerated Mobile Page. Google has built a new framework called AMP HTML. It allows mobile websites to load almost instantaneously. Whenever you search anything on your mobile device you get the results in seconds.  Call us at (845) 293-2489.
